The 2012 PLFA season ended in Warsaw on Sunday afternoon, with the Warsaw Spartans B, Warsaw BEagles, Gdynia Seahawks B and AZS Silesia Re'B'els vying for the PLFA 8 title. The BEagles and the Seahawks had no trouble getting through the semifinals, setting up an 8-man version of PLFA SuperFinal VII in the championship game. The Re'B'els then beat the Spartans handily in the third-place game, before the Seahawks prevailed in the title matchup, denying the BEagles some small amount of revenge for their defeat at the senior level. Seahawks defensive back Marcin Berbeć was named the player of the tournament. Here is a recap of each of the four games played on Sunday.

Results from the PLFA 8 championship tournament, played in Warsaw:
Semifinal #1: Warsaw BEagles 30, AZS Silesia Re'B'els 14
Semifinal #2: Gdynia Seahawks B 42, Warsaw Spartans B 0
Third-place game: AZS Silesia Re'B'els 34, Warsaw Spartans B 22
Championship game: Gdynia Seahawks B 20, Warsaw BEagles 16

Semifinal #1: A back-and-forth affair changed course on a Re'B'els fumble early in the second half, allowing the BEagles to gain a two-touchdown advantage on the first of a pair of touchdown runs by Damian Tarnowski and then hold on for the 30-14 victory. The BEagles erased an early 8-0 deficit with touchdowns in each of the first three quarters, before Adrian Mazurek's short touchdown run brought Silesia back to within 22-14. Tarnowski's one-yard plunge later in the fourth quarter sealed the win for Warsaw.

Semifinal #2: The other team from Warsaw didn't fare so well in the other semifinal, as the Spartans B team was smoked by the Seahawks B team by a score of 42-0. Patryk Kordyś, stepping in at quarterback for his injured brother, Aleksander, played admirably in the win for Gdynia. Kordyś had a hand in five of the six touchdowns the Seahawks scored after a scoreless first quarter. Łukasz Uzdrowski iced the game for Gdynia, who led 14-0 at halftime, with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown receptions.

Third-place game: Łukasz Rębowski and Sebastian Pytel scored fourth-quarter touchdowns to break open a tight encounter for the Re'B'els, who would go on to take the third-place game by a score of 34-22. Pytel scored on both sides of the football, rushing for a touchdown just before halftime to give Silesia a 14-6 lead and scoring the final points of the game on an interception return for a touchdown. Rębowski found the end zone three times during the game, while Mateusz Wroński had a pair of touchdowns for the defeated Spartans.

PLFA 8 championship game: The championship game ebbed and flowed, starting with a scoreless first quarter and then seeing the teams combine for 30 points in the second. Tarnowski put the BEagles ahead 8-0 before Kordyś hit Tomasz Mechlewicz with a 13-yard touchdown pass to tie the game. Berbeć intercepted a pass and took it for a touchdown on the next Warsaw drive, but the BEagles took a 16-14 halftime lead on a touchdown run and ensuing conversion by Richard Mbewe. The defenses took over again in the second half, although Kordyś was able to score on a 9-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that would eventually prove to be the difference in the game.
