Krakow Kings 28, Silesia Rebels 6 (in Krakow)

Filip Mościcki played a part in all four Kings touchdowns while the Krakow defense, led by Sebastian Szarek, forced turnovers at big times to help the home Kings get past the Silesia Rebels 28-6 on Saturday afternoon. The Kings handled the Rebels convincingly in a game that many expected Silesia to win after an opening game triumph and a pair of victories in the two matchups between the South Division rivals last season.

An opening drive interception by Szarek set the Kings up with a short field, and Mościcki cashed in with a 2-yard touchdown run. He added scoring passes to Łukasz Korpak and his favorite receiver, Beniamin Iwanicki, in the second quarter to extend the lead to 21-0, and Szarek added a second interception to snuff out a promising Rebel drive. Iwanicki scored again in the third quarter on a 20-yard reception, while Silesia managed to avoid the shutout when Jan Trojniak recorded a 10-yard touchdown run in the final frame.

Warsaw Sharks 46, Bydgoszcz Archers 6 (in Warsaw)

The Warsaw Sharks steamrolled the Bydgoszcz Archers on Saturday in the capital, torching the Bydgoszcz defense for five second-half touchdowns en route to a 46-6 victory. Luke Zetazate threw for four touchdowns and ran for two more, while running back Rafał Frąk topped the 100-yard mark on the ground for the Sharks. Warsaw moved to 2-0 on the season, good enough for an early half-game lead over Kozły Poznań in the North Division standings.

The teams traded scores early in the first quarter before the first of Mateusz Poneta's two touchdown receptions gave Warsaw a 13-6 lead. That score held all the way into the third quarter, when Zetazate and the Sharks began to pour it on. Kamil Ronczka and Jan Omelańczuk each pulled in a touchdown reception in the third quarter to extend the Warsaw advantage to 19 points, and the Sharks tacked on three more scores in the final twelve minutes to turn the game into a rout.

Warsaw Dukes 41, Gliwice Lions 0 (in Gliwice)

The Warsaw Dukes pounded the Gliwice Lions in the first half on Sunday, spoiling the Lions' 10th home opener in a 41-0 whitewashing. Warsaw raced out to a 35-0 halftime lead and coasted to victory on the shoulders of their substitutes in the second half, with Daniel Krawiec's late touchdown run giving them scores from six different players.

Avery Neloms threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Dukes, who have now opened their 2017 season with back-to-back victories. Bartłomiej Sikora ran a punt back 60 yards for a score in the first quarter, and Krzysztof Ufnal's 30-yard touchdown reception made it 21-0 early in the second. Neloms added a short touchdown run to his ledger later in the quarter, and Konrad Mariański's scoring catch brought on a running clock before the halftime whistle had blown.

Kozły Poznań 35, Wyszków Rhinos 14 (in Poznań)

Kozły Poznań's 35-14 home victory over the Wyszków Rhinos on Sunday made it a weekend sweep for the two teams relegated to PLFA I this season. The Rhinos, themselves promoted after spending last year in PLFA II, kept the game close for three quarters before finally succumbing to a more physical Kozły team. Patryk Barczak ran for two scores and also threw a pair of touchdown passes for Kozły, including a 55-yarder to Gamou Fall that crushed the Rhinos' comeback hopes early in the fourth quarter.

A missed extra point left Kozły down 7-6 after a 35-yard Barczak touchdown run, and Poznań then grabbed the lead on a short field goal just before halftime. Barczak scored again on Poznań's first possession of the second half, and he then found Mateusz Patalas in the end zone to extend the Kozły lead to 21-7. Tyler Williams brought the Rhinos back to within a score with a 20-yard touchdown run, but Fall struck quickly thereafter to put Kozły back ahead by 15. Bartosz Woch then iced the game with a 23-yard touchdown run.
