Panthers dominate Kozły 56-7

The fourth meeting between the Wrocław Panthers and Kozły Poznań ended up looking very similar to the previous three, as the Panthers scored five first-half touchdowns en route to a 56-7 victory on Saturday in Poznań. The Panthers have now outscored Kozły 189-14 in winning all four of their clashes, including a 32-0 victory in last year's Topliga semifinals.

Seven different Panthers got into the end zone, with only Tomasz Dziedzic getting there more than once. Dziedzic caught a touchdown pass from Kyle Israel to open the scoring in the first quarter, and he added a scoring reception from his brother, Bartosz, for the only points of the third quarter. Bartosz Dziedzic came in to replace Israel midway through the second quarter, with the scoreline already at 27-0 following a Mateusz Ruta interception return for a touchdown.

Israel hooked up with Tomasz Dziedzic and Grzegorz Mazur for scores in the first quarter, before finishing his afternoon with a 60-yard bomb to Patryk Matkowski. Wrocław would later increase the lead to 34-0 after Marcus Sims hauled in a 45-yard touchdown pass from Bartosz Dziedzic. Kozły finally got on the board just before halftime, on a 17-yard pass from Jeremy Dixon to Bartosz Trawiński.

Bartosz Dziedzic matched Israel's three scoring throws with a 19-yard connection to Adam Jagiełło. That score, which came early in the fourth quarter, came on a fake field goal attempt. The quarterback scored later in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard plunge for the final points of the day.

Wrocław will now have an extra week to prepare for their home matchup with the Warsaw Eagles on April 11 thanks to the Easter holiday. Kozły will also take that break, before returning to the field on April 12, when they will travel to Szczecin to face Husaria in another attempt to get into the win column for the first time this season.

Kozły (0-2): at Husaria Szczecin (1-1), Sunday, April 12, 12:00 PM
Panthers (2-0): vs. Warsaw Eagles (1-1), Saturday, April 11, 1:00 PM
